AT HOME - The Universal Mind
I am reading from The Eleven Yogic Arts of Creative Living and introducing practices, pranayam, meditations and kriyas that are included in my book. Videos are fifteen minutes or less. In this video I read from The Art of The Universal Mind and explain Long Deep Breathing. Don't forget to pick up The Eleven Yogic Arts of Creative Living on Amazon!
The Universal Mind Part 2
In this video, I read from sub-chapter "The Creative Potential versus The Ego" (from the first chapter, The Art of The Universal Mind) and demonstrate my favorite pranayam, One Minute Breath. If you can practice One Minute Breath eleven mintues a day, Yogi Bhajan said you can be in total control of your mind!
The Universal Mind Part 3
In this video, I read from sub-chapter "How Do I Plug into the Universal Mind" (from the first chapter on The Art of The Universal Mind) and demonstrate one of my favorite pranayams, Alternate Nostril Breathing. Combining the qualities and effects of the energy of the left and right nostrils - the ida and pingala respectively - this breath stimulates relaxation and energization at the same time. The result is a state of alertness and calmness. It is recommended to practice for 3 -5 mintues at a time. Many of you have asked, "what is that chanting I hear in the background of your videos?" You'll find out next time...
The Universal Mind and Compassionate Action
In this video, I read from sub-chapter "Universal Mind and Compassionate Action" (from the first chapter on The Art of The Universal Mind) and demonstrate an essential pranayam from the Kundalini Yoga practice, Breath of Fire. We generally practice it for 3 minutes which is very powerful, but it can be done for longer (you can work up to it). Eleven minutes would be considered a serious practice.
Art of Uplinking
Beginning the second chapter, "Art of Uplinking" and introducing the Four Stroke Breath to Build Intuition are the subject and the practice of today's AT HOME with The Eleven Yogic Arts of Creative Living. The rain and the Pink Full Moon made it feel like a good night to connect with all of you.
Art of Uplinking - Obstacles and Intuition
This chapter, The Art of Uplinking, has many sub-chapters or components to it because the act of connecting with the Universal Cosmic mind is a HUGE and vast subject. In today's video, I finish up the 3 Uplinking Rules: 1) Good-bye ego, 2) your expression is unique, and when connected you must 3) keep the channel open. I also start the subchapter on Intuition and its relationship with busting through obstacles and surmounting challenges. Primo info. We also return to the practice two minutes of 4-stroke breath to Build Intuition..a pranayam that I hope you all take on..increasing the time as you become more accustomed to it's power. Sixteen minutes is the limit!
Art of Uplinking - Intuition and Self-Love
The Universal Cosmic Mind is a HUGE and vast subject. One of the most important pieces of information has to do with getting out of your own way, removing obstacles, getting through challenges, etc. Today's video continues to explore the role that intuition plays in getting through obstacles and introduces the concept of self-love being at the root of removing blocks. This is crucial info. We also return to the practice of two minutes of 4-stroke breath to Build Intuition..a pranayam that I hope you all take on..increasing the time as you become more accustomed to it's power. Sixteen minutes is the limit! This pranayam builds those intuitive "muscles" which will not only connect you more easily to the Universal Mind, but will help to effortlessly move through life in the right direction.
Open the Flow
In this video, I read from sub-chapter "Practical Guide to Uplinking" which breaks down the Intuition and obstacle thing a little further... and should you find yourself stuck, or wanting to keep a connection open...or even if you need to make things floating around in your head manifest, Meditation to Open the Flow is a lifesaver. I LOVE IT!
The Art of Conceiving - The Science of Possibility
To conceive means "to form" or "to take in fully" and this is an important point. We "get" out ideas from somewhere else, all ready in the air and they need the interpreter, the voice, the artist to bring them forth. If creativity is nothing more than connecting things, as Steve Jobs believed, than our job as creatives is to make sense out of all the disparate parts and fragments and to synergize them into something that can be used and shared. Introducing the Meditation for the Meditative Mind.
The Art of Flourishing
Beginning the fourth chapter, the "Art of Flourishing" and returning to the Open the Flow Meditation practice is the subject of today's AT HOME with The Eleven Yogic Arts of Creative Living. I've been in the process of moving and setting up my new studio so it's good to be back with you all. The Art of Flourishing is organizing and producing in a healthy way...so it stands to reason that if you are abusing your self (or expending more energy than you can replenish), flourishing would not be the end result. In that way, one must always be striving for balance in pursuit of any creative endeavor.
